Episode Notes

At the end of June 2022, we're kicking off our Camp Monsters Summer Camp. We've collected some of the best camp stories to create our first series of legendary summer camp creatures. You can take these episodes with you to the campfire, bunkhouses or whatever place you call camp this summer.

For those of you looking for the fall monsters, don't worry, we've got you covered. We'll return as usual in September and October for another eight episodes, telling terrifying tales of legendary creatures from around the country. No matter how dark the night…

No matter how fast you run…

No matter what is chasing you…

You’ll be safe if only you can make it to the campfire.

… and luckily, there will be more Camp Monsters campfires in 2022.

You spoke, and REI listened. You wanted more unexplained rustling in the bushes at night, more shadows dashing through your flashlight beam, more otherwordly cries from just beyond the firelight… You wanted more Camp Monsters.

So at the end of June, 2022, we’re kicking off our Camp Monsters Summer Camp, sponsored by the good folks at YETI. During our first three seasons of Camp Monsters, so many of you have written reviews or sent emails with great monster stories of your own. We noticed that a lot of these took place at a summer camp… or in a wilderness nearby. So we’ve collected the best of the stories you’ve sent-- and researched a few of our own-- to create our first series of legendary summer camp creatures. We hope you take these stories with you into the bunkhouses and barracks and cabins of whatever camp you go to this summer. Or if your summer camp years are behind you, listen to these tales and remember what it was like…

And soon after the last of those eight weekly summer campfires, Camp Monsters will return as usual in September and October for another eight episodes, telling terrifying tales of legendary creatures from around the country. That’s sixteen shows in all-- twice the number we’ve ever done before, starting at the end of June and running all the way through Halloween. And while you’re looking forward to that, please like, share, and spread the word about the Camp Monsters podcast.  You are the reason we keep coming back and telling these tales.  Thank you.  And see you around the campfire!
